Gerhard du Toit was born and raised in South Africa where he spent the first 25 years of his life. He was brought up in Reform Churches and became a Christian at the end of his first year in Theological School near Cape Town. After studying he became an Evangelist for five years in South Africa, before being called to Britain, where he spent the next eight years being involved in Deeper Life Conferences in churches throughout the British Isles with The Faith Mission.

Gerhard was invited to preach in Canada during 1988 for six weeks and was subsequently invited back in 1989. Since then he has spoken extensively at Conference in Canada and the United States on the subjects of Prayer, the Work and Ministry of the Holy Spirit, Leadership and a number of subjects relevant to Christian living. He has a heart for pastors and spends extensive times in prayer with pastors during conferences.

Gerhard believes that ministry is the result of a life that has become saturated with the presence of God in the place of prayer. His passion is to see churches full of people that are full of God. His burden is to see the church ablaze in Revival, which needs to start with the leadership.

Gerhard is married to Janice, a graduate of Prairie Bible College and they have a daughter, Monica. They live in Surrey, British Columbia and are with The Faith Mission in Canada as well as managing their Conference and Retreat Center.
